Simplicity wins.

This week during our Scriptwriting lecture, we watched this short film by Sean Penn.

I had already watched this around 2 or 3 years ago but had totally forgotten about it.

This short film is so simple that it makes it more emotional.

I was trying to really understand how it was connected to the 9/11. Was it because his wife was passing by and she was caught in the event? Then it all made sense in the last minute.

When the light enters the home, that moment, he realises that his wife has passed away; The fall of the tower shed a light over the US and could now see that life is not that good. Not like in fairytales, where everything ends in a happily ever after and good.

Simplicity at it’s best.
