Location Scouting Part II

Today I’ve continued the mission to find a location for the short film.

I really like these locations, may not be THE location that I want but they’re really lovely.

I need something like the above photo, a trail, but with trees.

I saw this ^

This would do. Shooting from one angle rather than multiple.

This field.

I fell in love with it.

I then obsessed on the sky/clouds haha, so pretty!

Like cotton candy.

Scenery was really nice.

I took these purely for the scene.

Such beauty.

And we met these two adorable creatures!

Dog was scared and really playful, Cat was confident and cuddly 🙂

Location Scouting

Since in these past few days we’ve had such gorgeous weather (and no schools yay for progress week!), I’ve been location scouting for my short film.

Mainly I’ve been searching for an overgrown area or a like a forest (we do not have forests in this tiny country boo!)

The above photos are the closest I’ve found that I need, however I’m still searching for THE perfect location.

Not 100% satisfied with that location.

This location was gorgeous.

But it’s a big no no for filming.

It’s not safe to get to, I gave up walking 2 minutes in hahaha

Advert Filming

With the deadlines knocking on the door each week that passes by for the month of January, I finally managed to film the sexuality advert.

It  consists of 4 scenarios tackling from where babies come from. I used finger puppets to avoid awkwardness during the filming.

I made a minor (or major depending on how you look at it) change in the storyboard. I originally planned to have a 15-year-old in the advert but thought it was going to be a hassle to find someone who’s willing to take part in this. That and the fact that I don’t know anyone of such age haha. Anyway I worked with what I had.

Initially I was going to use a two point lighting setup.

1. Because my room is  too small.

2. I thought it would give the advert a more serious feel.

But then, I asked my dad on what he thought about the setting an he told me to try and use another light.

And this happened.

I’m glad I listened to him because it looks much better.

I personally like how they’re lit.

This was the background. I placed a bunch of toys I had from when I was a kid a basically used them to give it a ‘girl’s room’ feel. Even though they’re all out of focus haha

Advert Update

Well hello there! First of all I would like to wish you a happy new year and may it be full of health and whatever your heart desires 🙂

This morning I decided to try out the finger puppets that I had bought for the Sexuality advert.

Look at how permanently happy they are haha

I’ve tried to see what background I’ll be using but I think I’m going to end up using either a background of a doll house or an actual doll house. To be decided.

I also tried to see if I can use the natural lighting instead of the panther lights we have at school, and I think that I might actually go for the natural look since they have no features to define.

Whoops…

Here I am, forgetting to keep this blog updated… It’s been a hectic week.
Essay writing, interviewing, structuring, busy busy busy.

Two weeks ago I interviewed two people same goes for yesterday.
I’m so grateful that they took the time to help me out with the documentary.

I’m currently having a lot of rejection when it comes to interview people on how they see the Cross and their personal stories.

It’s not that they don’t want to help, it’s just that they’re way too camera shy.

Really grateful for the ones who are willing to help me out, really appreciate it 🙂

TV Shows

***Please note that this is just a thought.

Currently researching for the first task of Career Development. I have chosen a topic that shows how the UK and US TV shows are somewhat integrating together, how each country is taking parts from the other.

As I’m researching, I have noticed that a lot of American remakes of other shows have been cancelled after a few episodes or seasons. The only show (so far) that has kept on going and the audience preferred it over the UK version was “The Office”.

Six blogs said that the US version was better than the UK.

Could it be that it had more interesting content than that of the UK?

Maybe the US are less strict than the UK when it comes to TV?

To research more.

I’m going to have to go film this on a different time. As you can see the background is overexposed.

The problem is that during the week, a lot of people pass through here in the morning. I’m going to have to rely on a Sunday…

I have another shot where it is all in focus. I thought I’d make the word “Crucifix” focused to show the importance.

The funny thing is that while filming everything appeared to be straight in the viewfinder. I may need to buy a new tripod because it’s not stable anymore (fun fun fun fun)

Could it be?

As you might know from the post I posted yesterday, I had a somewhat huge problem. I couldn’t think of anything at all, no ideas were popping, nada, zero, niente. So I ended up reading people’s stories online, their creations.

I don’t know how or why but I was inspired. I don’t know where the idea came from but I’m glad it popped up. I’ve had an idea for my short film but only the ending. I didn’t have the mid part. I’ve had multiple characters but no stories.

I’m sure that there are a ton of videos on the idea that I have, but I’m not sure whether or not they have a twist like mine has. Am currently in the process of researching existing work, fingers crossed there isn’t anything like the one that I have in mind!

And no. I’m not going to write down what it is. Seriously.

Ha ha ha.

Problem.

I have just realised that the problem I’m constantly encountering is that I have a mambo jumbo of different ideas running around the corridors of my brain.

I’m constantly thinking about the advert and short film; What I want to do. No ideas come up or they’re lame as ever.

No wonder I’m having a hard time to figure out and come up with ideas for the short film and advert. I do have an idea for the two of them but they’re just vague ideas.

I keep pressuring myself to come up with ideas and to constantly brainstorm.

That is not helping one bit.
