I’ve been trying to come up with an idea for this short film we need to do for ages now and I’m still blank.
I have an idea on the locations and maybe props that I’d like to include but no story yet.
I’ve been researching short films and encountered this, it’s so clever and brilliant.
Whenever we have to come up with an idea for a project (whatever it may be; advert, music video, short film, etc), I always find it a bit difficult to be inspired and come up with something original and awesome-sauce.
However, what I want my projects to have in them is to be of an inspiration to others.
Even if it’s just a teeny-weeny bit of inspiration.
Why is it so difficult to keep this thing updated?
I’ve recently started researching some adverts for inspiration and I found this:
The child reenacts what her parents do by using dolls. Her mother is affected by her daughters actions, feeling hopeless about the situation.
Personally, I think that this is really effective.
Maybe this could be adapted to the educational promo video we need to make.
Using dolls as an example..?

This could be used as an inspiration for the advert we need to do.
I like how everything during the explanation everything is a metaphor for the actual stuff. For example; the big (shiny) rocket ships, shoot off, penetrate the atmosphere...
This is so awk-ward.
Okay so I may or may have not spent the whole summer holidays doing absolutely nothing but being lazy and loving every minute of it, hahahaha. I know that I’m going to pay the consequences now that we’ve started the first semester of the second year of Higher National Diploma. Woo hoo!
We were given an assignment called “Sexuality and Relationship Education Promotional Video”. Our client asked for a short advert targeting parents of 7 to 13 year-olds.
I’m honestly confused.
When I was 7 years-old I didn’t even think about sexuality and relationships, I only wanted to play with dolls and skip school so that I could stay at home all day and watch cartoons. But then again, this is a totally different generation from when we were kids. Take the fact that most kids nowadays have an iPad or an iPhone with a Facebook account.
So I guess it maybe, makes sense…?
Anyway, for now I’m just going to look for inspirations and videos. I have a vague idea about what I’d like to create but again it’s just an idea. I don’t really know. I’m not good at these kinds of subjects (AWKWARDNESS FOR THE WIN!)
